To create more livelihood opportunities for Bicolanos, Ako Bicol Congressmen Zaldy Co and Alfredo Garbin pressed officials of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for the early release of boats and fingerlings they requested from the agency.

Congressman Co said the tilapia fingerlings are much-awaited by different provinces in the Bicol Region whose livelihood were adversely affected by COVID-19.

During a courtesy call at BFAR’s offices, Reps. Co and Garbin said the distribution of boats and fingerlings is part of Ako Bicol’s “Tabang sa Kabuhayan: Tarabangan Caravan” which aims to assist Bicolanos by giving them means for livelihood.

Aside from BFAR, the Ako Bicol solons also visited the Department of Agriculture to extend their appreciation to DA Regional Director Rodel P. Tornilla for the farm equipment, garden tools and vegetable seeds distributed to AKB’s constituents.

Ako Bicol is expecting another batch of garden tools and vegetable seeds from DA to be given to Ako Bicol’s “Gulayan sa Eskwelahan” for various schools in Bicol Region.

In addition, Ako Bicol received 75 marcotted pili trees to be be used in its forthcoming tree planting with Ako Bicol volunteers.
