Congressman Rodel Batocabe of AKO BICOL Partylist graced the launch of the Coalition of Services of the Elderly, Inc.’s Feasibility of a Universal Social Pension Program. Joining him are representatives from the DSWD and DOF, where they gave feedback on the proposal to grant social pension to all senior citizens.
“In the congress, we have filed a bill that would concretize our plans to pursue a program that would give our seniors security and dignity.” Batocabe said.
Batocabe is a fervent advocate of the rights of the elderly. Aside from the universal social pension, Batocabe also filed HB 136 that would lower the age qualifier to be a senior citizen. He also filed HB 4980 that would strengthen the sanctions for elder abuse.
