Immediately after Supertyphoon Nina’s landfall on Christmas day, AKO BICOL Party List facilitated series of relief operations across the region. Ako Bicol Party List Rep. and Deputy House Minority Leader Alfredo Garbin, Jr. personally led the relief distribution in Brgy. Guilid, Ligao City last Wednesday, December 28. The relief operation was a commitment in partnership with Ms. Wen Velasco of Pilipinong may Puso Foundation.
These food packs were distributed amongst heads of families that were identified by the local officials to ensure that the vulnerable and indigent families are given utmost priority.
The repacking of goods is still ongoing to ensure adequate and immediate response to requests for assistance, especially in augmenting the basic needs of the people, like food, water, and health care.
