AKO BICOL Party List Representative and Deputy House Minority Leader Alfredo Garbin, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the volunteers, including scholars and private individuals, zealously repacking the goods from Pilipinong may Puso Foundation, through the effort of Ms. Wen Velasco. He said that it takes courage and selfless disposition for a victim to help fellow victims to ease their suffering- the essence of volunteerism. These food packs will be distributed to the affected families of Typhoon Nina on Christmas day.
In a message, Rep. Garbin said “To ensure that the most vulnerable are included in the relief distributions, the team coordinated with local government officials to personally verify the condition of the families, giving utmost priority to indigent families and those with heavily-damaged properties”.
This is but another effort to make a huge difference in our post-disaster management program as we significantly try to expand the number of people to which we can provide immediate life-saving food.
