Feast Day of Our Lady of Peñafrancia: A Celebration of Love and Compassion for the Bicolanos.
AKO BICOL Party List, with Rep. Rodel M. Batocabe, joined the crowd numbering to almost a million of pilgrims, homecoming devotees and tourists gathered along the Bicol River on Saturday, September 17, for the much-awaited grand fluvial procession of the venerated images of Our Lady of Peñafrancia and the Divino Rostro (Holy Face of Jesus) as they were brought back to the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Peñafrancia.
Singing marian hymns, waving white flaglets and handkerchiefs, and praying the holy rosary while kneeling down in adoration as the carriage passed by, the festive fluvial parade along the Naga River brought back the images to their home from Naga Metropolitan Cathedral, where they were brought for the novena masses last September 9 through the Traslacion procession. Peñafrancia Festival is the biggest and highly-anticipated Marian Celebration in the country in honor of “Ina”, the Bicolanos’ Patroness.
