AKO BICOL Party List through Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr., in cooperation with Department of Social Welfare and Development and Sunwestcare Foundation, Inc., immediately facilitated a relief operation for the displaced families during a fire incident last August 5, 2016, Friday, at Brgy. Victory Village, Legazpi City.
Benevolence reigned as the team distributed used clothing, food packs with rice, noodles, and canned goods to the affected families. More than helping the calamity-stricken victims tide over hunger for a day, the operation was meant to ease the burden of the distressful reality they could hardly cope with.
In a message, Rep. Garbin said “Calamities like this is truly devastating, especially when it’s tearing a community apart, leaving members vulnerable, enduring inconvenience while patiently waiting for help to arrive”. “It is but our social and moral obligation to help these families rebuild their lives with access to basic social services, thus, helping them get back to their feet”, he added.
This is yet another humanitarian endeavor making these victims feel that they are recognized members of the community with equal access to opportunities and public services.
