Ako Bicol, during its Christmas Party, recently awarded Onrang-IGOS to Director Abelardo Bragas, from the Department of Agriculture (DA) RO 5, for his outstanding and commendable assistance and cooperation, above and beyond the call of duty, in executing partnerships with Ako Bicol that advocated for agricultural modernization and food security.

Onrang-IGOS (Integrity in Governance and Outstanding Service) is the highest award given by Ako Bicol to an official of a government office based in Bicol who displayed exemplary service to our Bicolano constituents and exercised good governance in the conduct of public affairs and management of public resources.

This honour is bestowed in recognition of the dedication, diligence and remarkable work ethic of the director in pursuit of the mandates of his office through innovative programs and projects that actually inspire and change lives of Bicolanos and contributed to the inclusive growth of the Bicol Region.

It is also a testament to the honouree’s shared ideals and visions with Ako Bicol to provide sustainable programs and opportunities to combat poverty and improve the socio-economic condition of the Bicol Region.

ONRANG- IGOS came from two Bicol terms; Onra- meaning honor/award and Igos- which means harwork/diligence/perseverance/determination. Suffice it to state, Igos is a virtue which all of us should possess in order make the Bicol Region and the Philippines a better place to live in.

Congratulations Engr. Bragas! We look forward to more partnerships to come!
