AKO BICOL LAUNCHES 2016 SEARCH FOR THE TEN OUTSTANDING STUDENTS IN THE BICOL REGION

Ako Bicol (AKB), in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region V, has launched the 2016 search for the Ten Outstanding Students in the Bicol region. Ako Bicol Representative Rodel M. Batocabe said in part, “We are excited for the 7th year of our search for the most intelligent, diligent and service-oriented students here in Bicol.”

Based on the criteria and guidelines issued by the AKB, college students at least 18 to 25 years old, graduating or non-graduating, has a Generated Weighted Average of 1.75, and have shown exemplary performance in scholarship, leadership and service, are qualified to join the search.

Applicants must be endorsed by the head of their school or the dean of their Student Affairs Office. Nominee must also not have any record showing that he/she has been subjected to disciplinary actions for violating any of the school’s rules and regulations.

AKB has released application forms to different schools in the region. Applicants must submit said form with all other pertinent documents to the AKB main office on or before November 30, 2015

Cong. Rodel Batocabe added, “The screening committee shall utilise a point system which will be used to trim the applicants down to 20. Top 10 will be chosen based on their application documents plus the result of an on-the-spot essay writing competition and panel interview.”
